The Education Department is looking for an intern for the summer of 2014!  Our unique program provides interns with the opportunity to work with our collection of education animals and with visitors of all ages!  Daily animal care duties include cleaning, feeding, record keeping, and enrichment.  In addition, interns will assist with educational programming such as daily animal presentations, zoomobiles, birthday parties, and zoo camp sessions! Looking for something new and exciting for your kids to do over winter break?  The Utica Zoo has classes and camps designed for children of all ages to enjoy!  Wednesday, February 19th, we will be holding a winter zoo adventures session for children in pre-K and their siblings at 10:30am.  More information about Winter Zoo Tales can be found here.  We will also be holding two zoo camp sessions during the week.  Dates and times can be found here.  For more information or to pre-register your child, contact the Utica Zoo Education Department by phone at 315-738-0472 ext. 36 or email at birthdayparties@uticazoo.orgPre-registration is required!

Although they are essential to the health of the ecosystem and keeping herbivore populations in check, wolves have been the subject of intense persecution throughout the centuries, and most species are either threatened or endangered due to myths and misunderstandings.
