COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

In an abundance of caution, the Utica Zoo will be closed to the public until further notice to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We will have a core team of animal care professionals on grounds to continue to provide top level animal care to our animals. Please refer to our Facebook page for continuous updates. Thank you.

Emergency Operations Fund

March 14, 2020

Since March 14, 2020, the Utica Zoo has been closed to the public in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our highly trained and passionate Keeper staff have been continuing to provide the absolute best care possible for our animals, and our dedicated facilities team has been watching over the Zoo to make sure our beautiful grounds are ready for you to enjoy as soon as we are able to be together again. Supporting the Utica Zoo Emergency Operations Fund helps ease the financial burden of our uncertain circumstances.

As a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Organization, we rely on our revenue from admissions, events, gift shop, and educational programs to survive and continue to provide top-level care to our animals. Unfortunately, this necessary closure has been devastating to our income. We are incredibly thankful to our friends and supporters who have been generously sending donations to help us continue to care for our animals.

Additionally, the amazing Dr. Joan Sinnott, PhD. has put forward a matching grant challenge of $20,000 to help us continue our top-level care for our animals and ensure our beautiful grounds and facilities are ready and waiting for you when we can finally all be together again. This matching grant challenge is open until May 31st!

Your tax-deductible donation will go towards the continued care of our animals, including food, nutritional supplements, enrichment, veterinary care, or anything else they may need to be healthy and happy. Please use the form below to send your gift securely via PayPal.

Thank you so much for your support! We will get through this together and we can’t wait to see you again at the Utica Zoo!
