What is #GivingZOOday?

#GivingZOOday is a day to focus on giving back to the community after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Organized in partnership with #GivingTuesday, #GivingZOOday aims to garner support from everyday zoo and aquarium visitors.  This year, the Utica Zoo has joined other AZA-accredited Zoos and Aquariums to call on our community to help financially support the Utica Zoo and our mission of conservation, education, and recreation.

The Utica Zoo is a year-round animal care facility. During the winter months, the costs of feeding and caring for our animals far outweighs the revenue coming into the Zoo. This year, we are calling on our community to help us care for our animals by donating to our Animal Care Fund. Every dollar donated to the fund goes directly to the cost of food, bedding, enrichment, veterinary care or any other need our animals may have.

#GivingZOOday takes place Tuesday, November 27th, 2018.

How can I get involved?

You can support the Animal Care Fund in a variety of ways:

Make a donation-Visit our Donation page to make a secure donation via PayPal.

Adopt an Animal-With your symbolic adoption, you can help directly care for one of our animals. Animal Adoption includes a plush toy, photo of your adopted animal, certificate of adoption and recognition in our quarterly newsletter, “ZooNews”. Visit our Animal Adoptions page to learn more and to adopt your animal.

Exhibit Sponsorship-Our animal’s homes. Businesses who sponsor an exhibit have their name and support shown to over 100,000 visitors every year. We offer several options for exhibit sponsorship which include a metal sign at the exhibit, recognition in “ZooNews” and social media, tickets to premium Utica Zoo events, animal encounters, and more.
