School Break Camps

The Utica Zoo’s education department has Zoo Camps designed for kids of all ages. The zoo environment and animal themed fun make these camps a great addition to any child’s day. Pre-registration for all zoo camps is required!

Feathers, Scales, and Furry Tails

Pre-Kindergarten

Some animals are sticky, others are fuzzy, but every animal has a special covering!  Learn all about the different coverings animals have and why they feel the way they do!

Pre-Kindergarten

Climbing, walking, flying, swimming; All animals need to get around somehow!  Learn all about the ways animals move and where they’re going in this half week session!

Barnyard Bash

Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Down on the farm, there’s lots of animals to meet; some you might not even expect!  Discover how animals, plants, and people all connect together on the farm!

Conservation Club

Taking care of the Earth is an important job that is shared by people all around the world!  Learn how even the  smallest of steps can make a big difference!

Cultures all around the world have passed down stories about animals for generations.  Explore the different myths and legends behind the animals here at the zoo!

Jr Zookeeper Camp

6th, 7th, & 8th Grade

Do you have what it takes to be a Utica Zoo zookeeper?  Step into the shoes of a zookeeper for a week and learn all about what we do here at the zoo!

Session 1: August 4th – August 8th    9:00am-3:00pm FULL DAY

Zoo Camp Prices:

Single Day Sessions:  $30.00 per child members / $35.00 per child non-members

Half Week Sessions:  $60.00 per child members / $75.00 per child non-members

Full Week, Half Day Sessions:  $100.00 per child members / $125.00 per child non-members

Full Week, Full Day Sessions:  $150.00 per child members / $175.00 per child non-members

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis, with limited space available per session.  Registration  fees are non-refundable unless a camp session is cancelled by zoo staff.  You will be notified at least one week prior to camp if a session must be cancelled.

    It’s Wolf Awareness Week at the Utica Zoo. Although they are essential to the health of the ecosystem and keeping herbivore populations in check, wolves have been the subject of intense persecution throughout the centuries, and most species are either threatened or endangered due to myths and misunderstandings. Less than 100 individuals currently live in the wild. Mexican wolves are the most endangered gray wolf subspecies in North America, and our three females; Bella, Sierra and Aztec, are among the last of their kind.
