The Utica Zoo is proud to announce we’ve been selected as a finalist in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Program. Now we need your support! Vote for The Utica Zoo at www.100carsforgood.com on October 12, 2013.

The Utica ZooMobile is the zoo on wheels; bringing life and education to schools, nursing homes, public libraries, summer municipal programs, community events, and into areas of our region that are heavily populated with children who, for economic and other reasons, cannot come to the Utica Zoo.  Always keeping animal safety and welfare foremost in mind, a Toyota Sienna would assist the Utica Zoo in meeting the requests for ZooMobile presence.  In 2012, over 20,000 children and nearly 11,000 adults were presented to throughout 12 counties via the Utica ZooMobile.  For the first six months in 2013, off premises zoo programs have been presented in 172 locations to 9,990 children and 8,800 adults.  The importance of this grant is this; for all of the people listed above who received education, several program invitations had to be denied due to maximum use of our one current ZooMobile.

Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program will award 100 vehicles over the course of 50 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public. Winning organizations will use the Toyota vehicles to help expand their reach and missions within their communities.

Please support The Utica Zoo on October 12, 2013. Voting will take place at www.100carsforgood.com.
