COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

In an abundance of caution, the Utica Zoo will be closed to the public until further notice to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We will have a core team of animal care professionals on grounds to continue to provide top level animal care to our animals. Please refer to our Facebook page for continuous updates. Thank you.

Utica Zoo Spring Cleanup

February 11, 2020

Did you know the Utica Zoo uses 200 tons of sand to keep our animals, visitors, and staff safe during the winter months? That’s equal to 200 Bactrian Camels! But once the warm weather arrives, we need to clean up the Zoo from the winter and get ready for spring.

We invite you to join us for the Utica Zoo Spring Cleanup on Saturday, March 28th from 10 am-4 pm to help our team get the Zoo spruced up for our warm weather months. This excellent volunteer opportunity is a great way to give back in your community while breaking the cold-weather blues. We have a variety of tasks for all ability levels with indoor and outdoor locations and have opportunities for kids aged 14-17.

Snow/Rain date will be Saturday, April 4th.
