Things to remember…
The main role and purpose of the Utica Zoo volunteer is to interact with zoo visitors. Very few volunteer opportunities involve direct contact with animals other than those in the Education Collection.
All volunteers must complete a two hour safety and zoo policy orientation as well as any additional training required for the desired level of volunteer.
Completion of this process does not obligate the Utica Zoo to choose you as a volunteer, nor does it obligate you to accept any volunteer position offered.
