Do you want to celebrate conservation efforts and healthy habitats? Do you want to learn all about animals and ecosystems? Then come on over to the Utica Zoo on Saturday May 1st between 10am and 4:30pm to have fun at our annual Party for the Planet!

This year’s theme: Clean, Create, Connect with Nature!

General Information:

  • The festivities run from 10am to 4:30pm on Saturday May 1st, 2021
  • The first 150 visitor groups will receive a free reusable drinking straw package
  • Throughout the day, our animals will be receiving specialized,┬áconservation themed enrichment items to encourage their naturalistic behaviors in fun, healthy, and educational ways
  • Information and action plans will be distributed regarding four of the conservation programs the zoo participates in under the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) such as Project SAFE (Saving Animals from Extinction) and Northeast Motus
  • Beaversprite – the Utica Zoo’s new Dolgeville education center – will have an informational table set up to share information about the North American Beaver, marshlands, and the new education facility
  • Utica Zoo docents will be positioned around the zoo to provide information about animals, habitats, and conservation efforts
  • The Humane Society will be running an adopt-a-thon to provide information on adopting and how to reduce the number of stray animals around the country
  • Food and beverages will be available to purchase through the Grapevine Mediterranean Cart (drinks will also be available in the zoo gift shop)

Cost: the Party is included with the price of admission for the day
